Number of sheet metal bends in iProperties
Expand your capabilities with our latest feature upgrade - the automatic iProperties extension enables new sheet metal bend count properties. You can use them, for example, to speed up your quotation process for sheet metal parts.
This feature follows the same operation as other automatic iProperties. Navigate to the Auto iProperties → Sheet Metal tab, select the document type (part, assembly) you want it to apply for. In assemblies, it delivers a comprehensive summary of bends across all components, ignoring suppressed or reference components.
Optimized value rounding in custom iProperties dialogue windows
For users of custom iProperties dialogue boxes, you'll appreciate our solution to the problematic string of digits after the decimal point, a distraction for Inventor’s physical or geometric property values. Our latest improvement permits you to format the displayed values as needed.
To trigger this function, ensure two conditions: a read-only status for the value and a Number format set for the value type. Only then will a new String format field be activated.
To round real numbers, utilize different format strings in the String format field. For more insights on various string formats, check out our online What's New pages.
Time-saving tools in T4I Labs
Quick Command Search
Our ongoing efforts to optimize your workflow have led to the development of the Quick Command Search tool. This tool allows instant access to search and execute commands directly from your cursor's position within the Inventor window. Moreover, you can pin your favorite commands directly to the search command window!
This tool doesn't aim to replace workflows using Inventor keyboard shortcuts but to blend smoothly into them and add value where shortcuts are not implemented by default or would be unnecessarily complex.
You can locate the command on the Be.Smart Labs ribbon. However, for practical usage, assign a keyboard shortcut such as Alt+X for easier access whenever required.
Time Tracker
Ever wondered how much time you spent on a specific assembly or drawing or need precise data for customer quotes? The new Time Tracker tool measures the time spent working on your designs, providing a CSV report. This can be converted into a simple summary table or chart for visual evaluation.
By default, the Time Tracker is disabled. To activate it, navigate to the T4I Labs settings and select True in the TimetrackerActivated field (a restart of Inventor is required).
Keep in mind, a designer's work involves more than CAD operations. Time Tracker provides indicative data based on tool settings, task complexity, and individual work styles in Inventor.
Bug fixes and improvements
Our recent bug fix tackles the issue of inaccurate precision for the sheet metal thickness listed as a string in custom iProperties. No longer will you encounter 1,5 mm depicted as 1,5000000002.
We've also made adjustments to the licensing without impacting users.
