TDF: Building a Digital Twin for France's Critical Infrastructure
As the leading French telecommunications and broadcast infrastructure operator, TDF manages a nationwide network of more than 8,800 sites supporting broadcast, mobile connectivity, data centres and private networks. To modernise the way these assets are designed, maintained and operated, TDF launched an ambitious digital twin initiative.
Using drone-based data capture and Scan-to-BIM workflows, TDF is creating digital replicas of its infrastructure to improve visibility, collaboration and operational efficiency. The initiative is a cornerstone of the company's strategy to industrialise processes, reduce site visits and automate maintenance activities at scale.
In addition to implementing Autodesk technologies, ARKANCE developed a bespoke connector linking TDF’s asset database with its BIM models. By connecting operational asset data with digital twin models, TDF has created a living operational platform that supports smarter decision-making, increased automation and more efficient infrastructure management.
