About the project
The scope of the District Heating Network project is substantial, involving the installation of a 5-kilometer pipeline to channel the heat from the Kirkkonummi heat pump plant all the way to Espoo. This pivotal venture is at the core of Fortum's strategy to harvest waste heat from data centres to fuel district heating, thus promoting energy efficiency and minimizing fossil fuel reliance. The project's lifecycle comprises several vital stages: removal of vegetation, trench excavation, pipeline laying and jointing, and site restoration post-construction.

Paving the path for a greener future
Before Pointscene's intervention, effective worksite monitoring posed significant challenges due to the unavailability of the right tools. The platform's utility in creating and managing drone data has been instrumental, offering in-depth visuals and quantitative insights. As Pointscene's first customer to utilize the Drone Maps module, Fortum bears testimony to the value it adds.
With Pointscene we can easily monitor worksite quantities with our drone data.
The incorporation of Pointscene has revolutionized Fortum's project management for their district heating network, enhancing both efficiency and effectiveness. With access to accurate data and heightened situational awareness, the project team is empowered to make informed decisions, maintaining exceptionally high work standards throughout the project's lifespan.
